This year, the second edition of the Cajasol Leadership Initiative has chosen three Andalusian students to carry out the professional internship program in Washington D.C. in important companies and institutions related to their field of study.
Our participants Gonzalo Sánchez Barrachina, Arancha Gallardo Martín and Maria Carmen Gil Hurtado arrived in Washington D.C. on August 24th. They graduated from the Masters programs in Globalization and International Trade and Judicial Advising from the Instituto de Estudios Cajasol in July and were selected back in May to receive one of the three coveted scholarships. After two days of orientation and welcome activities they started their internships at DC Law Students in Court (LSIC) and Amber Road, an international trade agency. On Fridays they follow the Global Competencies skills programming which aims to enhance their innovative and leadership competencies needed to succeed in the global job market.
Through the Leadership Initiative they will be able to meet other students from all over the world and expand their knowledge of different cultures, whilst networkng for their future careers. This Fall 2016 edition has 383 participants, of which two thirds are from the US and one third international participants. Participants are ranging across 16 different countries and all parts of the US. Participants majors also cover a wide range of subjects, but most of focus broadly on one of the following areas: Advocacy, Service & Arts; Business & Global Trade; International Affairs; Law & Criminal Justice; Media & Communications; Politics & Public Policy.
