Jorge Brown, CEO and Executive Director of the Advanced Leadership Foundation, signed an agreement with Ignacio Baeza, the president of the MAPFRE Guanarteme Foundation, on March 21st in Madrid increasing the number of grants from 3 to 5 for young professionals from the Canary Islands to take part in the Advanced Leadership Foundation’s Internship Initiative in Washington D.C. for Fall 2016.
The MAPFRE Guanarteme Foundation is a private non-profit entity founded in 1985 and whose main goal is to support social and cultural development in the Canary Islands. This Foundation wants to broaden student’s professional development opportunities and offer internships in the United States of America. The first cohort of three participants is currently carrying out the Spring 2016 Leadership Initiative, making the most of this unique opportunity.
This program will allow five participants to go from August 24th to December 10th to Washington D.C. and immerse themselves in matters such as: Business and Economics, Politics, International Affairs, Legal Affairs and Criminal Justice, Health, Science and Environment. They will be involved in tasks related with their future occupation and that will significantly contribute to their professional development.
