Cajasol Initiative, Fall 2015

One of our latest partnerships to emerge, as part of our ongoing mission to train and empower the next generation of young leaders, is with the Andalusian bank Cajasol's 'Fundación Cajasol'. The Advanced Leadership Foundation has created the Cajasol Iniative by which a group of young Andalusian professionals will travel to Washington D.C. to carry out a professional internship program at some of the most important and esteemed national and international institutions and organizations in the city.

Starting in August, five young Cajasol accountholders, will begin their 15-week internship program at their work experience location in Washington D.C. The program will include weekly seminars and workshops on leadership and cultural integration as a complement to this international experience. These courses are taught by professors from some of the best universities in the US such as Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, American University and Harvard University.

Andalucía is one of the regions in Spain with the highest youth unemployment, and so the creation of this program seeks to give its participants the opportunity to gain the necessary skills to return to their local labor market, as highly competitive candidates once they have completed the program. Upon their return to Spain, participants will be able to apply the skill set they have gained over the course of their work experience in Washington D.C. to benefit their communities and Spanish society as a whole.
