The Advanced Leadership Foundation's mission supports the Millenium Development Goal 8 to promote global partnerships for development. In light of this we are collaborating with the UNESCO and the Dancing for the Millenium Goals project to create a special exhibition called "Caprichos de Goya" with the aim of promoting the Millenium Development Goals through art.
Displayed in the Caves Cálem gallery, in Vila Nova de Gaia, the exhibition holds a collection of 80 etchings from world-renowned Spanish painter Francisco de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828). The collection contains some of his more critical work on society of the late eighteenth century and in his etchings he is "denouncing human vices, political institutions and social injustice, satirizing social ills and behaviours, with emphasis on the noble and clergy classes." With the theme in his work of social justice and one that holds true to the Millenium Development Goals plan, this exhibition is reattributing part of its revenue to the Portuguese NGO, P&D Factor (Association for Cooperation on Population and Development).
